C.C. Leonard, age 91, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born October 4, 1918 in Acme, Texas the son of Louis C. and Lillie Mae (McNutt) Leonard. |
C.C. grew up and attended school in Quanah, Texas. He married Lola Mae Collins on August 20, 1938 in Quanah, Texas. After his schooling, C.C. worked as a farmer and cowboy for four years before entering the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge, he worked for Phillips Petroleum Company for over 40 years in Borger, Texas. He moved to Garden City in 2006. C.C. enjoyed fishing and he built a cabin in Colorado that he spent summers in for many years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Borger, Texas. |
C.C. is survived by one son, Ron Leonard of Holcomb, Kansas; three grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. |
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife on April 4, 1993, and two sisters. |
