Adrin Small, age 94, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born November 22, 1915 in Nash, Oklahoma the son of Emery Aaron and Margaret Adeline (Reeves) Small.

Adrin graduated high school from Neodesha and received his teaching certificate from Fredonia. He married Claudine Johnson on November 26, 1936 at Neodesha. She died on September 3, 1964. He then started farming before getting into the alfalfa business. He stayed in the alfalfa business for his career living in several different places before moving to Holcomb in 1952. He bought a farm in 1955 near Holcomb which he did along with working as the regional manager for Western Alfalfa. On September 1973 he married Linda Knoll in Garden City. In 1995 he moved into Garden City. Adrin enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, going to craft shows with his ceramic and woodworking, camping and boating. He made his own fishing rods and lures. Adrin was a former member of the Holcomb School Board.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Small of the home; six daughters, DeAnne Roth and husband John of Lamar, Colorado, Connie Schaffer of Wichita, Peggy Pettz and husband Ron of Deerfield, Kansas, Sherry Tabor and husband James of Haysville, Kansas, Cathy Adams and husband Ralph of Topeka, Kansas, Penny Brungardt of Garden City, Kansas; one son, Bob Small and wife Chrissy of Loveland, Colorado; one step-daughter, Shirley Williams and husband Doyle of Garden City, Kansas; two step-sons, Vern Knoll and wife Connie of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Dave Knoll of Blanchard, Oklahoma; one brother, Harold Small and wife Pansy of Neodesha, Kansas; 22 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife; one brother, Melvin; one grandson, Doug Schaffer; and two great-grandchildren, Adam Kuhn and Candace Kraft.
