Viola came to Kearny County on an orphan train to be adopted at the age of 2 and attended Lakin Schools. She married Clarence L. Kash on January 12, 1931 at Lakin. He died on October 13, 2000. Viola was a farmwife and her special love was being a devoted Mother to her sons. For many years she worked as a cook for the Lakin Elementary School and assisted her Husband with the rural mail delivery route. She enjoyed reading, especially fiction and western novels. Survivors include two sons: Arnold Kash of Omaha, Nebraska, and Maurice Kash of Wichita, Kansas; 4 Grandchildren: Susan Kash-Brown, Jim Kash, Dan Kash and Chad Kash; and 5 Great-Grandchildren: Sara Kash-Brown, Leah Kash-Brown, Neomi Kash, Jacob Kash and Tyler Kash. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorial contributions may be given to High Plains Retirement Village in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 508 N. Main, Lakin, Kansas 67860.
