Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 06, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson with Reverend Don Hasty officiating.
Interment: Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas.

Robert (Bob) Merle Wiens passed away in Midland, Texas on March 2, 2010 at the age of 79. He was born June 28, 1930 in Ashland, Kansas, the son of George and Alma (Clampitt) Wiens.

He was raised on a farm outside of Meade, Kansas until his father became ill and the family moved to Thayer, Kansas. Bob graduated from Parsons Junior College and then moved to Johnson, Kansas to begin his career at the Johnson Co-op Grain Company, until he was drafted by the United States Marines to fight in the Korean Conflict. While in the Marines he married Betty Lou Hargrove on February 18, 1953 in Yuma, Arizona. They returned to Johnson and Big Bow, Kansas where he returned to work for Johnson Co-op until his retirement. Later Bob went to work at Ben Hogan Golf Company in Ft. Worth, Texas. While living in Texas, his wife Betty passed away on September 21, 1985. Bob and Betty raised their four children during their 32 years of marriage. Bob then returned to Johnson to work for the Johnson Co-op. On August 27, 1994 Bob married Lois Yeager Wilkerson. Lois passed away on April 27, 1999. In 2008, Bob moved to Midland, Texas to live near his son, Jim. Our dad loved spending time fishing, hunting, gardening, sight-seeing and traveling to visit his children and grandchildren. Thanks for all the wonderful memories dad.

Bob is survived by his children, Teresa Wiens-Carlson of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Jim Wiens and Deb Gillium of Midland, Texas, Randy Wiens and wife Tanya of Evanston, Wyoming; grandsons, Dustin Carlson of San Marcos, California, Derrik Carlson of Salt Lake City, Utah and Chance Wiens of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and great-grandson, Dominik Carlson of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also is survived by his sisters, Nadine Braiser of Lake Helen, Florida and Dona Titsworth of Topeka, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his wives, Betty Hargrove Wiens and Lois Wilkerson Wiens; parents, George and Alma Wiens; son, Samuel D. Wiens; and daughter-in-law, Stormy Breaux Wiens.
