Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. February 24, 2006 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas
Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas


Survivors: Esther is survived by two sons; Lloyd Zahnter of Garden City, Kansas and Larry Zimmerman of Buena Park, California, five daughters; Paulette Fief of Clark, Colorado, Patty Tarpley, Peggy Strong, Phyllis Partin, and Penny Rodriguez all of Garden City, Kansas, thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.


Born in Garden City, Kansas, Esther has been a lifetime Garden City resident. She attended country schools in Finney County, Kansas. A homemaker, Esther also worked with various other jobs in Garden City throughout her life. She enjoyed embroidery, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family. Esther married Leslie Zahnter on June 14, 1942 in Garden City, Kansas. She later married E.D. Zimmerman on November 24, 19556 in Raton, New Mexico. Esther is preceded in death by her first husband; Leslie Zahnter, her second husband; E.D. Zimmerman, her parents, a brother; John Rich, and a sister; Marie Witman.
