Visitation: 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 01, 2011 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 02, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Father Francis Khoi Nguyen as Celebrant.
Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.


A vigil service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City.


Family request memorials be given to Annie Urteaga memorial fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. 7th St., Garden City, Kansas 67846.


Annie Urteaga, 82 of Garden City, Kansas died Monday, May 30, 2011 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on January 22, 1929 in Menard, Texas the daughter of Estevan and Petra (Saiz) Gonzales.


Annie was born and raised in Menard, Texas. On October 18, 1947 she married Frank Urteaga in Menard, Texas. While living in Menard, Annie worked at William’s Dry Goods. In 1967, they relocated to Garden City, Kansas where they remained. Annie was a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping, quilting, cooking for the family, gardening and socializing with friends. Annie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.


Survivors include three sons, Tony Urteaga of Ft. Worth, Texas, Robert Urteaga of Crowley, Texas, Frank Urteaga Jr. of Garden City, Kansas; four daughters, Gloria Urteaga Torres of Ft. Worth, Texas, Leonor Urteaga Martinez, Cecillia Urteaga Palacios, Martha Urteaga Perez all of Garden City, Kansas; one brother, Braulio (Bill) Gonzales of Price, Utah; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Librado (Lee) Gonzales and Monseis (Sonny) Gonzlaes; and two sisters, Ramona Enriquez and Maclovia Roman.
