Obituary for Howard D. Wick

Dighton- Howard D. Wick, 89, died on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home in Dighton. He was born on November 18, 1927 at Utica the son of Albert Lambert & Hazel Dell (Upjohn) Wick. He married M. June McGowan on October 17, 1948 at Dighton.

Howard grew up in Utica and graduated from Utica High School. He served in the United States Navy after graduating high school. After his discharge he moved back to the area and worked for the Dighton Co-op Elevator for 19 years. In 1971 he started Wick Grain Company in Shields which he ran until retirement.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Dighton, Barney Masonic Lodge # 279 of Dighton and ISIS Temple Shrine of Salina.

He is survived by his Wife- June Wick of the Home, Son- Daniel R. & Darnel Wick of Dighton, Daughter- Jendee Wick of Arvada, Colorado, 5 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Brothers- Lyle Wick & Herbert Wick and Sister- Eileen Yonkoff

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at First Christian Church in Dighton with Rev Aerii Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the Unites States Navy Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church in care of Boomhower Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday and 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Saturday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
