Garden City- Karen Whatley, 50, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at her home in Garden City. She was born on June 16, 1967 at Garden City the daughter of Floyd F. & Maria (Jimenez) Whatley.

Karen was a lifetime Garden City resident and graduated from Garden City High School in 1986. She attended Garden City Community College. She was a caregiver and had worked at Community Day Care, St Catherine Hospital Day Care, All Saints, Dillon’s & Payroll Plus. She enjoyed bowling, embroidery, cooking, her dogs, playing bingo and was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents- Ignacio & Blanche Jimenez, Margaret Mata & Kenneth Whatley & Uncle- Joseph Jimenez.

She is survived by her Parents- Floyd & Maria Whatley of Garden City, 2 Brothers- David & Theresa Whatley of Deerfield & Floyd Whatley, Jr. of Garden City, 3 Sisters- Rose Ann & Calvin Kopp & Jessica & Samuel Fonseca of Garden City & Yolanda & Dallas Scisney of Deerfield, Nieces & Nephews including Cassandra, Peggy, Robert & Raymond & Great Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Garden City with Rev Tod Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
