Obituary for Ramona Widows

Garden City- Ramona Widows, 86, died on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on December 5, 1931 at Garden City the daughter of Carl & Cleo (Bailey) Allen. She married Robert Widows on September 3, 1963 at Penrose, Colorado.

Ramona was a lifetime Garden City resident and graduated from Garden City High School in 1950. She then went to work for the Garden City Telegram as a proof reader and Linotype operator. After she and her family moved to the farm she helped out with the farm work. She was a member of Garden Valley Church where she was on the Caring Commission and did many volunteer activities thru the organization. She also was a Past President of the Business Professional Women’s Club. Ramona enjoyed traveling, shopping and especially being involved with her Grandchildren and family activities. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Sister- Christine Goertz and Brother- Ray Allen.

She is survived by her Husband- Robert Widows of the Home, Son- David and Wife Tammy Widows of Holcomb, Daughter- Becky and Husband Trevor Brandt of Garden City, 3 Brothers- Charles Allen of Garden City, Kenneth Allen of Arlington, Texas & Walter Kay Allen of Fort Lupton, Colorado, 4 Grandchildren & 2 Great-Grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, July 2 at Garden Valley Retirement Village Chapel with Rev Steve Ensz officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
