Obituary for Marcelino "Mark" Pauda

Marcelino “Mark” Pauda, age 64, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Monday, July 30, 2018, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. Kansas. He was born September 4, 1953, in Shallowater, Texas, the son of Marcelino and Geneva (Felan) Pauda.

Mark grew up in Texas and moved to Ulysses in 1972. He worked in construction and oil field services at Treco, Inc. and started Pauda Roustabout Service in 1989. Mark was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ulysses, Kansas. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed golf, travel, fishing, gambling and time spent with family and friends.

Mark married Elia Carrillo on May 10, 1974 in Lamar, Colorado. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother; Geneva Pauda, Ulysses, Kansas, five sons; Mark Pauda and wife Cynthia, Ulysses, Kansas, Freddy Pauda, Ulysses, Kansas, Jacob Pauda, Ulysses, Kansas, Boomer Pauda, Holcomb, Kansas, Troy Pauda and Marissa, Ulysses, Kansas, two daughters; Elena Dutton and husband Jeff, Plains, Kansas and Crystal Metcalf and husband Aaron, Ulysses, Kansas. Seven brothers; Jesse Pauda, Lubbock, Texas, Louie Pauda, Joe Pauda, Angel Pauda, all of Ulysses, Kansas, Albert Pauda, Dodge City, Kansas, Bill Pauda, Liberal, Kansas, and Sammy Pauda of Ulysses, Kansas, three sisters; Geneva Ramos, Irene Sosa and Irma Pando, all of Ulysses, Kansas, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mark is preceded in death by his father, Marcelino Pauda; brother, Robert Pauda; and sister, Dominga Esquivel.

Vigil service and Rosary will be Thursday, August 2, 2018, at 7:00 PM and Funeral Mass will be Friday, August 3, 2018, at 2:00 PM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
