Garden City- Concepcion B. Hernandez, 65, died on Saturday August 11, 2018 at her home in Garden City. She was born on December 7, 1952 at Brownsville, Texas the daughter of Abelardo & Antonia (Martinez) Benavidez. She married Benito Hernandez and he died on March 21, 1984.

Concepcion traveled with her family as migrant workers until settling in Ulysses. In 1990 she moved to Midland, Texas. She pursed her GED and attended college in San Angelo, Texas. In 1995 she moved to Garden City and worked as a Nurses Aide at St Catherine Hospital and then as a Secretary at Garden City High School. She attended Cornerstone Church. She enjoyed gardening, listening and dancing to different kinds of music, sewing, her pets especially her birds and most of all her family activities. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Brother- Reynaldo Benavidez & Daughter- Alicia Hernandez.

She is survived by her longtime companion- Guillermo Trevino of the home, her Children- Amy Hernandez of Ulysses, Benito Hernandez, Jr. of Garden City & Misty Hernandez of Garden City, Brother- Abelardo Benavidez, Jr. of El Paso, Texas, 2 Sisters- Maria Eloise Palacios of Juarez, Mexico & Grace Rendon of Eden, Texas, 15 Grandchildren & 5 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Michael Morales officiating. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
