Obituary for Raymond E. Quint

Garden City- Raymond E. Quint, 96, died on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his home in Garden City. He was born on May 27, 1922 at Sitka the son of Aloysius & Anna (Wasinger) Quint. He married Imogene L. Brennaman on August 4, 1941 at Garden City. She died on July 22, 2008.

Ray moved to Holcomb when he was 3 years old and attended Holcomb schools. While growing up he worked in the beet fields, poultry factory and other farm work. During World War II he served in the Pacific Theater as a member of the United States Army Air Corp. After his discharge he returned to Garden City and worked as a mechanic at Gardiner Dairy and later as a Salesman for Walters Motors. He became the owner operator of Quint Champion Service Center and later Quint Automotive Shop. He was a member of St Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Lodge, John J. Haskell VFW Post # 2279 & Harry H. Renick American Legion Post # 9 all of Garden City. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and watching his Quint Automotive Softball team play. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Son- Gerald Quint, Son-In-Law LeRoy Roth and 10 Brothers and Sisters.

He is survived by his Daughter- Linda Roth of Garden City, 2 Sons- Michael & Marji Quint of Garden City and Danny & Terri Quint of Northfield, Minnesota, Brother- Tom Brungardt of Garden City, Sister- Shirley Richmeier of Garden City, 13 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.

Vigil Service will be at 7:30 PM Wednesday and Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM Thursday both at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Charles Seiwert as celebrant. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with military rites by Kansas National Guard Honor Guard and American Legion District 8 Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to St Mary Endowment Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home.
