Obituary for Pauline E. Hahn

Pauline E. Hahn, 90, died Monday, December 31, 2018 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. She was born September 11, 1928 in Willowdale, Kansas the daughter of Catherine & Nicholas (Becker) Bayer.
Pauline attended school in Willowdale and Zenda. On April 28, 1948, she married Victor N. Hahn in Willowdale, Kansas. A homemaker, Pauline also worked at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City from 1979 until she retired in the mid 1990’s. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City, the Daughters of Isabella, the VFW Auxiliary, Eagles Lodge Auxiliary, and AARP. Pauline enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards, crocheting, word search puzzles, and was an avid Kansas City Royals fan. She also loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include 8 children Bernard (Gwen) Hahn of Lyndon, Kansas, Darlene (Dave) Shaver of Emporia, Kansas, Dennis (Sharolyn) Hahn of Salina, Oklahoma, Jane (Lloyd) Lightner of Pierceville, Kansas, Ernest (Donna) Hahn of Platteville, Colorado, Donna (Terry) Oberley of Dodge City, Kansas, Leon (Tina) Hahn of Garden City, Kansas, & Nancy (Ed) Robinson of Valley Center, Kansas; 2 brothers Henry Bayer of Garden City, Kansas and Leo Bayer of Mesquite, Nevada; 65 Grandchildren; 90 Great-Grandchildren; and 4 Great Great-Grandchildren.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husband Victor who died on December 28, 1999. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a son Kenneth & wife Maggie Hahn; 4 Brothers Aloysius Bayer, Joseph Bayer, Lawrence Bayer, & Albert Bayer; and 6 Sisters Clara Bayer, Regina Bayer, Sr. Carolyn Ann Bayer, Alice Tatro, Lucy Danler, & Helen Gehlen.
A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 also at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Seiwert as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to St. Mary School Endowment Fund in care of the funeral home.
