Garden City- Kenneth “Kenny” Johnson, 87, died on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Cottages in Garden City. He was born on July 6, 1931 at Texline, Texas the son of Simon & Edna (Herber) Johnson. He married Ethel Morrell on June 5, 1955 at Beloit.

Kenny attended schools in Hillsdale, Oklahoma. In 1950 he moved to Beloit to work on a custom harvesting crew and later managed an Implement Business in Beloit. He moved to Stockton to work for an Implement business and in 1961 moved to Garden City to manage a Service Station. In 1970 he established K.L. Johnson Trucking, Inc and spent many years hauling agriculture products in the area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City. In his earlier years he enjoyed participating in rodeos and later got into horse racing. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Brothers- Robert Lee Johnson & Le Roy Johnson and 2 Sisters- Glenna Davis & Lila Sanders.

He is survived by his Wife- Ethel Johnson of the Home, Son- Don & Jane Johnson of Garden City, 2 Daughters- Debbie & Mike Rome of Holcomb and Brenda & Darren Cacy of Overland Park, Brother- Raymond D. & Beth Johnson of Salem, Oregon, Sister- Agatha Darlene & J.L. Bowen of Kremlin, Oklahoma, 18 Grandchildren & 28 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev Tod Anthony officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday and 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday at Garnand Funeral Home.
