I came to know Sharon through my sister, who taught at Gertrude Walker with Sharon for several years. She was so full of life, always smiling and laughing, and making everyone else around her smile and laugh, too. Several of us (all teachers) used to go for lunch and/or go to a movie, and I remember laughing more at Sharon's uncensored comments than at the movie itself. She was so much fun to be with! I am sure her family and friends are missing her terribly, but after seeing her in a brief visit over Christmas break when she was in the hospital in Wichita, I know she is in a beautiful, safe place now, and making all Heaven laugh with joy. (Every time I see Tom Selleck, I'll think of Sharon!) Ann Winders

Brian I was so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. Find comfort in knowing that she is laughing and smiling. She was always so proud of you. When we would meet she would tell me what you were doing and had a huge smile on her face. I pray that God gives you comfort and peace.

First I just want to say I am so sorry.. I will forever miss her laughter and her caring smile and positive happy voice. I have known Sharon for 25 years, as she would call me to get a substitute for her classes. She would leave me the most beautiful messages, just being so thankful and appreciative. Even after she retired she would leave prank funny messages to me as if she needed a substitute. It truly made me smile the rest of the day. there were several times I would meet her and Lori for dinner when I was in Garden City, I never left those meals without laughter.. She will be missed by so many! I am saying so many prayers of comfort to all of her family... Lisa

I got to know Sharon when I was her nurse, working with Dr. Koksal. She always made me laugh and called me "Dolly". I loved to hear her talk about her teaching career and her son Brian, she loved both so much! This world needs more women like Sharon, she will be greatly missed. Peace be with her family and friends. -Michelle
