Obituary for Raquel Morales De Chavez
Raquel Morales de Chavez, 62, died Monday February 4, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born January 3, 1957 at Copandaro, Michoacan, Mexico the daughter of Andres Morales Zamacon and Emelia Cervantes Luna.
Raquel was born, raised, and attended schools in Mexico. She was always a very responsible person. She helped her mother raise her siblings when her father passed away at a young age. This sense of nurturing, love and putting others before herself carried on into her adult life. She met Senovio Chavez Delgado, they dated and eventually married on May 22, 1987. They started a family and moved to Garden City in 1196. She worked for Tyson for 13 years as a trimmer in the knives department. She was a terrific cook and loved watching Novelas. She loved helping others. Not just by praying for them but by actions of charity, or through a kind gesture or supportive words of encouragement. Her family, friends and co-workers describe her a bright light with a fighting spirit.
She was preceded in death by her father-Andres Morales Zamacon.

A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday February 13, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will start from 1:00 up to Rosary/Service time at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will take place at a later date in Mexico. The family request Memorial Funds to the Raquel Morales Memorial Fund.
