Kenneth James Kiehl, 75, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his home in Holcomb, Kansas. He was born July 23, 1943 in Paso Robles, California the son of Clarence & Helen Frances (McKinney) Kiehl.

As a young child, Kenneth moved with his family to a farm in northeast Finney County. He has been a resident of Finney County, Garden City, and Holcomb since. He attended Theoni Elementary School and Abe Hubert Middle School. A truck driver for most of his life, Kenneth also worked as a welder and a seismologist. He enjoyed fishing and bowling.
On August 4, 2012, he married Cheryl Lightcap in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include six children PJ (Jamie) Wilson of Hooker, Ok, Maureen Harris of Garden City, Ks, Danielle (Gerold) Messer of Hardin, Mo, Aaron Kiehl of Scott City, Ks, Kenneth Kiehl, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Ok, & Jawonna Kiehl of North Carolina; seven brothers Chuck (Marilyn) Kiehl of Tulsa, Ok, Jake Kiehl of Lake Charles, La, Bob Kiehl of Lake Charles, La, Harold (Janis) Kiehl of Cleawater, Fl, Michael Kiehl of Newton, Ks, Larry (Andrea) Kiehl of Perryton, Tx, & Wesley Kiehl of Springfield, Mo; five sisters Wanda Stintzi of Souix Falls, Mn, Karen Adams of Lake Charles, La, Linda Vargus of Wichita, Ks, Patricia Parsons of Newton, Ks, & Barbra Fleetwood of Dodge City, Ks, a sister-in-law Roberta Kiehl of Spearville, Ks; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Leonard Kiehl and Richard & wife Ellen Kiehl.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials given to the Kenneth Kiehl Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
