Margaret “Peggy” Tobin Hoskinson, 72, died Monday, March 4, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 24, 1946 in Rathgormack, Ireland the daughter of Martin & Hannah (Halpin) Tobin.
Peggy moved to Boston, Massachusetts when she was 17 years old. On May 15, 1976, she married Dan Hoskinson in Peabody, Massachusetts. Peggy began working as a hairdresser, but later worked as a Day Care Provider and also worked as a CNA for Home Health and Hospice. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City; a member of the Altar Society, served on the Hospitality Commission at the church, and volunteered her time to pray during adoration at St. Catherine Hospital. She enjoyed reading, history, and politics.
Survivors include her son Kevin Hoskinson of Garden City; two brothers Dennis Tobin of Concord, New Hampshire and John Tobin of Carrick-On-Suir, Ireland; a sister-in-law Sally Hoskinson Kelly of Chichester, New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Maurice Tobin and David Tobin; and a sister Nelly Gough.
A Vigil Service & Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019 also at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Warren Stecklein as Celebrant. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to St. Dominic Catholic Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
