Lakin- James W. Murphy, 61, died on Friday, March 15, 2019 at his home in Kearny County. He was born on October 26, 1957 at Greensboro, Pennsylvania the son of Charles & Joan (Huey) Murphy. He married Dorothy DeClaro in 1978 at Tucson, Arizona. He later married Dona Seeger in 1983 at Deerfield.

James attended school at Benson, Arizona. He moved to Deerfield in 1982 and worked as a roofer at Garden City Roofing and Chambless Roofing before joining his son at Triple J Roofing & Construction in Lakin. He was a member of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing when off work. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Daughter- Gina Johnston and Brother- Michael Murphy.

He is survived by his Son- Jason Seeger of Lakin, Step-Father- John Duncan of Benson, Arizona, Brother- David-Mo Duncan, 7 Sisters- Kelli Duncan, Terri Douglass, Mary Kellogg, Tammy Gutierrez, Lisa Murphy, Nancy Klindinst and Judy Duran, 8 Grandchildren including Jaycee Seeger, Jalyn Seeger, Jake Johnston, Frisco Lenox, Jessie Lenox and Lily Johnston and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
