Obituary for Glendene Corn

Glendene Corn, 74, died Sunday, March 24, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born May 8, 1944 in Atascadero, California the daughter of Leland Glen & Lola Belle (Crist) Brown.

As a child, Glendene lived in Washington, Utah, Colorado, and Missouri before moving to Garden City to live with her grandparents. She has lived in Garden City since. Glendene worked most of her life as a waitress and cashier. She most recently worked for many years at Walmart. Glendene was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Garden City and a member of T.O.P.S. She enjoyed collecting dolls and angels, taking care of her family, and visiting with people.

On December 1, 1974, she married Glenn Robert Corn, Jr. in Garden City. He survives. Other survivors include a sister Linda Rodriquez of Greely, Colorado; two brothers James & wife Linda Brown of Hooker, Oklahoma and Arthur & wife Diann Brown of Boise, Idaho; a sister-in-law Alis Brown of Turpin, Oklahoma; a step-brother Tom & wife Myrna Rush of Arriba, Colorado; three step-sisters Kathy & husband Mark Schoenthaler of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Susan & husband Lowell Gilbert of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Linda & husband Bob Thomas of Georgetown, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews. Glendene is preceded in death by her parents; her step-father George Rush; and two brothers Leland Glen Brown and Bill Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City with Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
