Holcomb- Evelyn Lois “Betty” Hill, 91, died on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin. She was born on October 11, 1927 at Neodesha the daughter of Robert E. & Margaret E. (Totman) Jackson. She married Robert “Doc” Hill on December 14, 1946 at Fort Scott. He died on May 8, 1983.

Betty attended school at Redfield, Kansas. She was a longtime resident of Holcomb and had worked as a Nurse Aide at St Catherine Hospital and as a cook for the Holcomb School District. She was a member of St Mary Catholic Church of Garden City.

She is survived by 3 Daughters- Nancy Vaughn of Lakin, Patricia King of East Haddam, Connecticut and Linda Maddox of The Woodlands, Texas, 3 Sons- Paul Hill of Garden City, Mark Hill of Lakin and James Hill of Holcomb, 23 Grandchildren, 32 Great-Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and 2 Sons- Michael Hill and John Hill.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev Peter Tran officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at St Michaels Cemetery in Fulton, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Kearny County Hospital in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
