Obituary for Ronald E. Mott

Ronald E. Mott, 98, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 2, 1920 in Finney County, Kansas the son of Charles & Pearl (Railsback) Mott.

Ronald has been a lifetime Finney County and Pierceville resident. On April 27, 1952, he married Eva L. Burgin in Hutchinson, Kansas. A lifetime farmer and rancher, Ronald was a member of the Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed his work on the farm, raising cows and calves, and visiting and ministering to people.

Survivors include three daughters Sandy Mott of Pierceville, Kansas, Vicki & husband Michael Hunter of Garden City, Kansas, and Rhonda Mott of Garden City, Kansas; a son-in-law Bob Wasmuth of Cimarron, Kansas; a brother Melvin Mott of Garden City, Kansas; two grandsons Justin & wife Valerie Wasmuth and Tyler & wife Tosha Wasmuth; and six great-grandchidlren Delaney Wasmuth, Gavin Wasmuth, Liran Wasmuth, Hudson Wasmuth, Connor Wasmuth, & Magnuson Wasmuth. Ronald is preceded in death by his wife Eva who died on June 1, 2014. He is also preceded in death by his parents; a son Edwin Mott; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Pierceville Federated Church in Pierceville, Kansas with Rev. Rodney Stromlund and Rev. John Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to the Pierceville Federated Church, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, or Special Olympics all in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
