Antonia A. Maldonado, 93, died Tuesday May 7, 2019 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born June 13, 1925,the daughter of Jose and Justa Aguilar in Warda, Texas.
She was born, raised, married and raised own her family in Texas before moving to Garden City in 1966. She married Anastacio Torres in Glen Flora, Texas on October 4, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1977. She had worked as a CNA in the Home Health Industry and St. Catherine Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, and gardening. She was a member of The Church of God of the Firstborn.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-Felipe Torres and siblings- Domingo Aguilar, Julia Jimenez, George Janas, Jose Angel Janas & Thomas Janas.
She is survived by her children- Joe Torres of Garden City, Kansas & Leonor Salas of Wichita, Kansas, 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, & siblings-Mary Jimenez and Margarita Landa.
The Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday May 9, 2019 & The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday May 10, 2019 both at The Church of God of the Firstborn, 2909 West Mary St., Garden City, Kansas with Pastor John Janas Officiating. Visitation will also be held at the Church of God of the Firstborn starting Thursday May 9, 2019 from 2:00 pm to Vigil Service time & Friday May 10, 2019 from 10:30 am until Funeral Service time. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
