Obituary for Grant O. Meyers Jr.
Grant O. Meyers, Jr., 81, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at High Plains Retirement Village Assisted Living in Lakin. He was born on December 13, 1937 at Mountainburg, Arkansas the son of Grant O. & Lula Mae (Smith) Meyers.
Grant attended schools in Beeler and Garden City. He worked at several different jobs in his life, including ranching, construction, helped build both Farmland and IBP Packing plants and worked at both after construction was complete while living in Deerfield and Garden City. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church of Deerfield. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening and especially being with his family activities. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Brothers- Leland Meyers and Dara Meyers and 4 Sisters- Anetta Wyrick, Linda Dyson, Mary Meyers & Shirley Meyers.
He is survived by 4 Sons- Roy Lee Meyers of Arkansas City and the Philippines, Grant (Rose) Meyers, III of Holcomb, Gene (Linda) Greer of Garden City & Jeff (Kristi) Meyers of Deerfield, Step-Son Terry Meyers, 4 Brothers- Glenn (Martha) Meyers of Deerfield, David (Janice) Meyers of Deerfield, Donald Meyers of the Philippines & Dale (Donna) Meyers of Wisconsin, 2 Sisters- Ida (A.B.) Bolton of Ulysses & Martha Langley of Deerfield, 14 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Kenton Connor officiating. Burial will follow at Pyramid View Cemetery in Gove County. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Memorials are suggested to High Plains Retirement Village in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
