Jeffrey R. Spence, 69 died Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born November 1, 1949 in Modesto, California the son of Jesse lee & Barbara Ann (Darling) Spence.
Jeffrey grew up in Modesto, California where he attended school and graduated from high school. Jeffrey then lived in various places throughout the United States before moving to Garden City in 2004. Jeffrey worked as a truck driver, a heavy equipment operator, a fence builder, and a cowboy. He enjoyed rodeo and watching television. He was a member of the VFW of Garden City.
On July 10, 1999, he married Pamela Kay Russell in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include a son Justin Spence of Modesto, California; two daughters Dusty (William) Pittman of New York, Texas and Desiree (Sheldon) Van Buskirk of Hinton, Oklahoma; a sister Barbara (Sonny) Young of Kuna, Idaho; seven grandchildren Jaycee Spence, Kenzie Spence, Rustin Pittman, Dawson Van Buskirk, Shy’Ann Van Buskirk, Aleanna Van Buskirk, & Brody Van Buskirk; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours.
