Karensue Gottschalk, 72, died on Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on September 30, 1946 at Wichita the daughter of James Randall & Norma Sue (Rowe) Unger. She married Tim Gottschalk on July 17, 1966 in Garden City.
Karensue graduated from Garden City High School and attended Garden City Community College. She worked in retail her entire career. She was mainly known for her many years at Riddles Jewelers and retired with Riddles in 2017. She enjoyed taking her grandkids shopping and to many garage sales where she got the name of “Crazy Nana”. Karensue also enjoyed spending time with her family, grandkids and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Andy Gottschalk; and a sister Patti Bealmear.
She is survived by her two daughters Nikki Gottschalk and Natalie Bruno both of Garden City, a brother Randy (Vicki) Unger of Garden City; brother-in-law John Bealmear of Las Cruces, NM; five grandchildren Zaria Gottschalk of Garden City, Dylan Bruno of Hutchinson, Kaitlin Gottschalk of Topeka, Seamus Galloway of Topeka, and Tylor Galloway of Wyoming; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Chaplain Gerry Dupuis officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
