Obituary for Charles "Chas" A. McCauley

Charles “Chas” A. McCauley, age 86, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Western Prairie Senior Living in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born December 26, 1932, in Bucklin, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Hazel (Grisham) McCauley.

Chas was a Rancher and enjoyed working with horses and cattle. Over the years he competed in rodeos as a bronc rider, bulldogger and team roper, he was also a well known horse trader. Chas loved to watch all livestock related activities. He especially loved to watch his daughter, Brandy, compete in barrel racing and his granddaughter, Shelby’s, events.

Charles married Betty Randles in 1968.

Survivors include his wife Betty McCauley, one daughter; Brandy Wilson-Mehl and husband, Mark Mehl, and one granddaughter; Shelby, all of Ulysses, Kansas.

Chas is preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Bob McCauley, one step-brother; James McCauley, and son-in-law; Bryan Wilson.

Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at Ulysses Cemetery with Denton Koehn officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 5, 2019, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family present from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to Cuttin With Shynia or Grant County 4-H Horse Project in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.
