Obituary for Alfred Ambriz, Sr.
Alfred M. Ambriz, Sr., 79, died Friday August 2, 2019 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas. He was born May 16, 1940 in Cameron, Texas the son of Jose & Maria (Munoz) Ambriz.
Alfred spent his early years in Cameron and Lubbock, Texas. He courted Patsy Urteaga and they later married on July 23, 1960. They moved to Deerfield in 1971. He had worked for Texas Tech and as a Leader Operator in the Agriculture Industry. He was a member of St Anthony Catholic Church in Lakin. He enjoyed watching NFL Football, taking his chances on scratch-off lottery tickets and playing Dominoes with his friends.
Survivors include his wife Patsy Ambriz of the home; Children-Alfred Ambriz Jr. (Lucy) of Garden City, Lisa Ambriz Morales (Christopher) of Garden City & Karen Ambriz Lopez (Leonard) of Garden City; Siblings-Connie Ambriz Perez of Houston, Texas, Jose Ambriz, Jr of Rosebud Texas, & Juan Ambriz of Lubbock Texas; 6 Grandchildren- Dominic Lopez, Melody Davis, Amber Dillinger, Nakita Ambriz, Kendra Koehn and Kelsey Estrada & 5 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings-Julio, Jesus & Fredie Ambriz.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday August 6, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakin with Father Peter Tran as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Deerfield Cemetery.
