Obituary for Joe Bob Patterson
Joe Bob Patterson, age 58, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Friday, August 16, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born November 23, 1960, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Kenneth Jr. and Joann (Spencer) Patterson.
Joe Bob grew up in Ulysses. He was a skilled silversmith. Joe Bob moved to Glorieta, New Mexico in 1988. He married Sherri Nelson on November 19, 1994, in Pecos, New Mexico. After returning to Ulysses in 2008, Joe Bob helped with the family farming and custom harvesting business.
Joe Bob is survived by his wife Sherri of the home; father, Kenneth Patterson, Jr. of Ulysses; brother, Norman Patterson and wife DiAnna of Ulysses; sister, Tami Chandler and husband Gary of Ness City; uncles and aunts, Charles R. Spencer and wife, Angela, Bill H. Spencer and wife Charlene, Jim Spencer and wife Peggy, Dean Spencer and wife Luie, Ruth Wilkerson and husband Butch, Mary Lou Morgan; brothers-in-law, Paul Nelson and wife Donna, Larry Nelson and wife Ellen; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Joe Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Joann; sisters, Alice and Leanne; and grandparents.
Memorial service will be Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with Reverend Todd Guinn officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Joe Bob Patterson Memorial Fund or the Ulysses Animal Shelter in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
