Obituary for Janette S. Finley Barker
Janette S. Finley Barker, 72, died Monday, September 23, 2019 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born May 24, 1947 in Arkansas City, Kansas the daughter of Cecil & Anastacia Marie (St. Clair) Rogers.
Janette lived most of her life in Garden City where she attended Garden City schools. She later moved to Nixa, Missouri in 2010. Janette worked for many years as a Registered Nurse in Garden City. She enjoyed square dancing, ball room dancing, and country dancing.
On October 28, 1968, she married Robert Al Finley in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Janette later married Gary Barker on June 5, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gary died on January 31, 2010. Janette is also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two children Weston & wife Karen Finley of Nixa, Missouri and Vonda Finley and Fiance Jay Maupin of Dodge City, Kansas; three sisters Shirley Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Wanda Jo Daugherty of Garden City, Kansas, and Cecelia Papay of Meade, Kansas; and four grandchildren Jacklyn Finley, Auston Finley, Stanton Finley, & Reid Clanton.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to the Donor’s Choice in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
