Obituary for Geneva L. Behr

Garden City- Geneva L. Behr, 90, died on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Unlimited Care Cottages in Spring, Texas. She was born on August 5, 1929 in Denver Colorado the daughter of Harold S. & Mary V. (McKinnon) Roots.

Geneva graduated from Blanchard High School in Blanchard, Oklahoma in 1947 and East Central State University in Ada, Oklahoma in 1950. She taught elementary school in Texas, Alaska, New Jersey and Oklahoma before moving to Garden City. She taught for 29 years at Georgia Matthews and Jeannie Wilson schools and retired in 1994. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Finney County Senior Center and Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo.

She is survived by her Daughter Mary Lou Sundstrom and husband Gary of Spring, Texas, Son Jim Behr and wife Ginger of Kansas City, Missouri, Grandchildren Mindy Cotton and husband Heath of Anderson, Texas, Lindsey Bonnette and husband C.J. of Spring, Texas, Tori Smith and husband Shane of Kansas City, Missouri, Andi Anneler and husband Bryan of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Samantha Millican and husband Tommy of Denton, Texas, Kinnon Behr and wife Jordan of Omaha, Nebraska and Gillian Behr of Kansas City, Missouri and Great-Grandchildren Ashton Cotton, Chloe Cotton, Colby Cotton, Addison Bonnette, Kayson Bonnette, Sofia Smith, Tyce Smith, Sadie Smith, Magnolia Millican, Monroe Millican and Zayn Snyder.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, October 11, 2019 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to service time Friday, October 11, 2019 at Garnand Funeral Home.
