Juan Silva, 57, died Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Juarez, Mexico. He was born July 27, 1962 in San Francisco De Asis Indie, Durango, Mexico the son of Amado Silva and Maria Luisa Gonzalez.
As a lifetime cowboy and long time resident of Garden City, Juan’s greatest passions in life were his family and friends. His talents include roping, riding and leather crafting.
On September 3, 2004, Juan married Lori Smith in Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include two children Mayra Silva, and Juan Silva Camacho & wife Stephanie Silva; two step-daughters Heather Ramirez & husband Louis Ramirez and Megan Smith & husband Bet Rattanakoun; his mother Maria Luisa Gonzalez; eight siblings Francisco Silva, Graciela Silva Gonzalez, Uriel Davila Gonzalez, Maria Imelda Davila Gonzalez, Manuela Silva Gonzalez, Magdalena Silva Gonzalez, Aurelio Silva Gonzalez, & Mario Davila Gonzalez; nine grandchildren Skiler Rattanakoun, Aiden Samad, Zane Rattanakoun, Brielle Rattanakoun, Katalea Silva, Ivan Silva, Kianna Ramirez, Brinley Ramirez, & Avianna Ramirez.
Juan is preceded in death by his father Amado Silva and a brother Maximeliano Silva Gonzalez.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Fr. Jacob Schneider officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
