Obituary

Lois Mae (Pike) Shrimplin-Davis, 85 passed away on October 12, 2019.

She was born on September 15, 1934 to Dr. Francis Goff and Edith Fern (Hawkins) Pike. She lived most of her adult life in Sublette, Kansas where she was a faithful member of the Sublette Southern Baptist Church. She played the piano for an outreach ministry through her church for many years.

Lois was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She was Sugar Beet Queen on a couple of occasions at the Haskell County Fair for her entries in the jelly and preserves category. She also loved to crochet doilies and gave them as gifts for weddings, graduations and birthdays. From October 1971 to October 1989 she cooked for the weekly meetings of the Sublette Rotary Club.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Edith Frances Hale-Marsh; a brother Johnnie Clyde Pike; her husbands Eldon Eugene Shrimplin and Arthur Charles Davis; a son-in-law Paul Sambolich; two grandchildren Benjamin Alan and Stephani Danai Shrimplin; a great-grandchild Angel Marie Richman.

She is survived by her five children: Donna Sambolich, Derby, KS; Johnnie Shrimplin (Kate), Savannah, GA; David Shrimplin (Laurie), Perryton, TX; Mark Shrimplin (Brenda), Colorado Springs, CO; Stephen Shrimplin (Dana), Wasilla, AK; nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Sublette Southern Baptist Church in Sublette, Kansas on Friday October 18, 2019 with Pastor Robert Philips officiating. Burial will follow at the Haskell County Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be given to the Sublette Southern Baptist Church or to your favorite charity in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
