Obituary for Arnaldo Gutierrez Vazquez
Arnaldo Gutierrez Vazquez, 91, died Friday January 3, 2020 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born August 31, 1928 the son of Jose Gutierrez and Catalina Vazquez in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Mr. Gutierrez Vazquez was raised in Mexico and married Socorro Rivera Corral on April 29, 1959 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She survives. They moved to Garden City in 1990. He was a very active member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He had worked for IBP, Monfort and the City of Garden City. He had a marvelous green thumb, nurturing peach trees and roses in his garden. He could be found outside singing, listening to music and tending to his garden. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Socorro Gutierrez he is survived by his children-Roberto (Maria Lourdes) Gutierrez of Garden City, Jorge(Rosa) Gutierrez of Andrews Texas, Oralia (Lorenzo) Corral of Andrews, Texas, Lorena Gutierrez of Garden City, Kansas and Rosalina (Gabriel) De Los Rios of El Paso Texas; 17 Grandchildren; 37 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
A Rosary/Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday January 5, 2020 and Funeral Mass on Monday 10:30 am January 6, 2020 both at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
