Obituary for Linda Small
Linda Small, 85, died Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born March 12, 1934 in Park, Kansas the daughter of Robert & Theresia Werth.
Linda grew up and attended school in Park, Kansas. She married Eugene Knoll in St. Peter, Kansas. Eugene died in 1968. Linda then lived in Dodge City for a short time where she attended school to become a LPN. She moved to Garden City in the early 1970’s where she worked for a short time at St. Catherine Hospital. In 1973, Linda married Adrin Small in Garden City. They moved to the family farm in the mid 1970’s. They later moved back to Garden City in the mid 1990’s. A homemaker and LPN, Linda enjoyed cooking, canning, arts & crafts, ceramics, painting, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and later became a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
Survivors include three children David Knoll of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Vern Knoll of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Bob Small of Loveland, Colorado; four brothers Marcellus Werth of Wichita, Kansas, Marvin Werth of Wichita, Kansas, Joe Werth of Hays, Kansas, and Jerry Werth of New Mexico; a sister Irene Flax of Wright, Kansas; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Linda is preceded in death by her first husband Eugene; her second husband Adrin who died in 2010; her parents; a daughter Shirley William; two brothers Cyril Werth and Edwin Werth; and two sisters Genevieve Weis and Hermine Weis.
A rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. with funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. both on Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Fr. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to St. Mary Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
