Obituary

Etta Frances Richardson, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on June 16, 1937, in Farmington, New Mexico, to Rollie Rae and Anna Mozelle (Hodgin) Williamson.

She was a 1956 graduate of Rolla High School. On September 15, 1963, she married Robert Lee Richardson in Rolla, Kansas who preceded her in death on May 17, 1997. She worked as a Bank Teller for many years and recently retired as the Director for the Rolla Senior Center. Frances, known as “Frankie” to many of her loved ones, found immense joy in spending time with family and friends. Among many passions and hobbies, she loved being at her grandchildren’s activities, watching the Hallmark Channel, collecting coins, reading her Bible, and working on crossword puzzles. She placed great value on the small things in life and always prioritized her relationship with God. She was a dedicated member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Rolla, Kansas for many years.

Frances joins her husband, Robert Richardson; parents, Rollie and Anna Williamson; her brothers, Gerald, Bob, and Charles Williamson; her sisters, Helen Barnes, Betty Eastepp, and Faye Nugent; and her son, Dale Richardson, in heaven. She is survived by her children, Fred Richardson, Shirley McClellan, Roger Richardson, Rex Richardson, and Brenda Friend; her 15 grandchildren; her beautiful great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral service will take place at the United Methodist Church in Rolla, Kansas, on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a burial service at the Rolla Cemetery. Pastor Mary Courtney will be officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, Kansas. The family requests that memorials be given to the Rolla Senior Center or the American Cancer Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. 854, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.
