Obituary for Margie Fay Wendler

Dighton- Margie Fay Wendler, 92, died on Sunday, January 12, 2020 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on February 23, 1927 in Logan County, Oklahoma the daughter of David and Jessie Kyle.

Margie graduated from Edmond, Oklahoma High School and her Bachelor’s degree in education from University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. She was a lifetime teacher touching many lives in Dighton and other Kansas communities. She also taught in Oklahoma and Native American schools in New Mexico. She retired in Edmond, Oklahoma and spent the past few years living in Kansas City. She was an avid reader and loved doing cross stitch, playing dominoes, card games and crossword puzzles. In her earlier years she enjoyed singing in community groups and her church choir. She also always liked listening to her boys play music.

She is survived by 2 sons- Lain & Juline Wendler of Kimberling City, Missouri and David & Aine Wendler of Kansas City, Missouri, 6 Grandchildren- Dodge, Rees, Angela, Shanti, Jessie & Liberty, several Great-Grandchildren and Step-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Husbands- Clarence Wendler & Ron Mackley, Son- Jeff Wendler, Daughter- Susan Wendler, Grandson- Simon Wendler and 6 Brothers and 4 Sisters.

Margie had requested that no services be held. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation in care of Boomhower Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
