Obituary for Leslie Wayne "Les" Davis

Leslie “Les” Wayne Davis, 53, died Friday, January 24, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. Les was born September 25, 1966 in Hays, Kansas the son of Marvin Davis and Dona Graham Larson.

Les lived in several towns in Colorado and Kansas. He graduated from Windsor High School in Windsor, Colorado in 1985. During the summer months while growing up, Les would work on the Graham family farm. Les was employed by the Farm Bureau, Radio Shack, and Inland Container. He resided in Deerfield, Kansas for the majority of his adult life. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Deerfield. His hobbies included building stereos, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, traveling, bowling, shooting pool, playing bridge with his Grandma Shirley, and watching movies with his son Colton.

Les is survived by his wife, Cecilia “Sissy” M. Lopez, whom he married on October 15, 1994. Other survivors include his son Colton Wayne Davis & wife Jessica Davis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his father Marvin & wife Monica Davis of Greeley, Colorado; his mother Dona Graham Larson of Milliken, Colorado; two brothers Scott Davis of Denver, Colorado and Ross Davis & wife Christina of Baxter Springs, Kansas; a sister Kyla Anaya & husband Anthony of Milliken, Colorado; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Les is preceded in death by his grandparents Lawrence and Shirley Graham and Vera and Orville Davis.

A Vigil Service and Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakin, Kansas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020 also at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Kansas. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to Christ the King Catholic Church of Deerfield or to High Plains Retirement Village both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin.
