Obituary for Terry Kells

Terry Kells, 72, died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Morton County Senior Living Community in Elkhart, Kansas. He was born March 6, 1947 in Garden City the son of Earnest & Juanita (Stillwell) Kells.

A lifetime resident of Garden City, Terry attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School. He then attended Garden City Community College. Terry worked for 40 years as the owner and operator of Kells Dry Wall, retiring in 2009. A true perfectionist, Terry loved Hot Rods, car shows, all animals especially cats, scaring people, golfing, and music. He also had a wonderful sense of humor.

On January 11, 1969, he married Cheryl Spangler in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include three children Shane Kells of Garden City, Kansas, Chet Kells of Irving, Texas, and Shawna & husband Eric Larsen of Garden City, Kansas; a sister Sharon Kraus of Redmond, Washington; eight grandchildren Heather Komlofske, Jordan Kells, Damian Kells, Austin Kells, Alexa Kells, Dezirae Kells, Taylor Larsen, & Ryan Larsen; and two great-grandchidlren Kristopher Komlofske and Maysi Kells. Terry is preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother Larry Kells.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Pastor John Harms officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to the Terry Kells Memorial Fund to help with animal shelters in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
