Garden City- Marjie Crook, 104, died on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. She was born on August 13, 1915 in Rush County the daughter of John “Parm” Palmer & Betty (Mosher) Renner. She married Gerold Crook on February 16, 1935 at Larned. He died on June 9, 1976.

Marjie was raised on a farm in Rush County and graduated from Lacrosse High School. She lived in Larned after her marriage until moving to Garden City in 1939. She worked at Dillon’s for 26 years in the meat department. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Son- Jay Crook, Daughter- Mary Lou Jackson, Daughter-In-Law- Carole Crook, Great-Grandson- Damien Huelskamp, 3 Sisters and 2 Brothers.

She is survived by her Son- Ron Crook of Garden City, 2 Daughters- Vivian (Sy) Huelskamp of Minneola and Rhonda (Randy) Magnison of Holton, Daughter-In-Law- Sondra Crook of Prairie Village, Son-In-Law- Stanley Jackson of Satanta, Kansas,11 Grandchildren- Stephanie (Keith) Reyes, Teri Henson, Kurt (Rose) Huelskamp, Brad (Darla) Jackson, Jim (Dawn) Crook, Vicky (Larry) Bates, Melanie (Alex) Stapleton, Jeremy (Emily) Haunschild, Jennifer (Nathan) Monhollon, Bret (Marvella) Jackson & Cari (Rod) Pemberton, 21 Great-Grandchildren and 26 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Calling Hours with family present will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home.
