Obituary for Juan Reyes
Juan Reyes, 67, died May 3, 2020 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born February 8, 1952 in Corrales, Zacatecas, Mexico the son of Juventino & Juana (Pacheco) Reyes.
Mr Reyes was born and raised in rural Mexico. He met Rosario Lopez at a dance, after she asked him to dance. His nervousness was overshadowed by his interest in the lovely “city” girl, and they were soon married. Although they had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, their time seemed too brief. He was known for his love of horses and inflicted this passion on his children and grandchildren. He was self-employed as a truck driver. A generous man, he was a giver of time, money and most importantly bountiful love shared with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and Siblings-Pilar, Roberto, Vidal & Emilio Reyes.
Survivors include his Wife-Rosario Reyes of the home, Children- Guadalupe Reyes of Dallas Texas, Jose Vidal Reyes of Dallas, TX and Nancy Reyes of Garden City, KS; Mother- Juana Reyes; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday May 7, 2020 via Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 6, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to Juan Reyes memorial fund in care of the funeral home. An additional Mass and Burial will take place in Dallas at a later date.
