Obituary for Eddie E. George

Eddie Eugene George, 69, of Syracuse, KS passed away on June 11, 2020. He was born on August 3, 1950, in Clinton, Oklahoma, the son of Emerson E. George and Shirley L. Collier.
Eddie was a proud 1972 graduate of Fort Hays State University and went on to a long career in the feedlot business as well as operating his farm in Syracuse, where he resided with wife of 40 years, Brook Hughs. Eddie enjoyed spending time tinkering around the farm and studying as much family and regional history as possible. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife, Brook, daughter Cheyenne and husband Tim Strunk of Wamego, KS; one granddaughter, Emerson, another grandchild due in September; Uncle Bill and Aunt Rosa Collier of Taloga, OK; Aunt Pauline Fahle of Taloga, OK; and numerous friends and extended family members.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the Coolidge Gym 501 Santa Fe, Coolidge, KS. In lieu of flowers and in line with Eddie’s wishes, memorial contributions may be made to his grandchildren’s education fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. 7th Street, Garden City, Kansas 67846
