To Pat and family,
The first time I met Dave was when I was in grade school at Manter. For some reason, a friend and I were out of school and we had gone down to the confection store (Brady’s) to play a game of pool. Just so happens, Dave Roach had taken a little time off and he was playing pool. He quickly welcomed us to join in and gave us some pointers. I don’t remember who won at pool that day, though I’m sure it was Dave because I don’t know anything he wasn’t good at. However, I do know that meeting Dave was a win for me. Previous to meeting him, I already respected his farming talents because every time my dad & I would drive by fields Dave farmed my dad would comment on how good they looked. But meeting him in person brought a new perception, i.e., Dave Roach is a really good man. I saw this time and again throughout my life, from seeing him running the chains at football games while I was in high school, to later on working with him to create win-win business relationships. Please know that I respected Dave Roach immensely, and looked up to him for the character he possessed. He will be missed.

Keri and families,
Sorry to hear about your father, my condolences for all of the family. We always had a great time, whenever we ran into each other during the many high school sporting events over my 25 years in Syracuse, especially on the golf course. It is a big loss for the city of Johnson and the world was a better place for him being in it. He will be remembered by many in Southwest Kansas.
