Obituary for Danny Ray Day
Danny Ray Day, a Garden City KS, native, died in his home Thursday, June 9th, 2022. He was born April 3, 1968, in Garden City, Kansas the son of Lee Aden & Iris LaReita (Willson) Day.
Danny was a hero, having stepped up, putting his life in danger, to save countless lives in 2016, when he infiltrated a group of terrorists, who were planning to detonate multiple explosives on Mary Street. Many generations of Garden City residents have him to thank for their lives. He also was a devoted, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Cherlyn, his son Brandon, and his daughter Alyssa. He is also survived by his 8 brothers and 5 sisters. He will also be missed by, Braydon, Abby, Noa, Margie and many others who worked with him, as he ceaselessly worked for the good of our community. He enjoyed Chiefs football, 4 wheeling, and shooting. He was a graduate of Garden City High School, and Bartlesville Wesleyan University.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Cornerstone Church in Garden City with Rev. Raul Silva officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in garden City. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Garnand Funeral home in Garden City.
