Condolences

Condolence From: Mona Pratt
Condolence: Gertrude and I were nurse colleagues at St. Catherine Hospital in the late 1970"s. I was a new graduate and she (along with Pat Naab, Nettie Bucy, Irene Unruh, Babe Strasser, Inez Newberry and Juletta Boltinghouse) took me under their wings and showed my how to be a real nurse. I moved away but have always kept in touch with Gertrude. My last visit with her was in Feb. 2017. She was in her home, alert, sitting in the chair, oxygen on and we both knew this would be the last time we would see each other. RIP my friend.

Condolence: Gertrude was an amazing gal, and has always been there for my grandparents. She nursed them to health when they were sick, and has always kept an eye on them in our absence. She will be truly missed.

Condolence From: Mary Sue Strasser
Condolence: Gertrude was the quintessential nurse, caring for others above all else. She was also a great friend to my mother, Eleanor Strasser. Gertrude was with mother when she passed in 1989, and our family will never forget her kindness and strength during that time. I have no doubt they are both up in Heaven, comparing notes. May she rest in peace in God's eternal light. My sincere condolences to Mark and his extended family.
